Topic: Listening for His Voice
OCTOBER 18, 2005/late afternoon
After completing the first entry of my blog I left for a place of solace.
In the late afternoon amid cool breezes I welcomed the sight of sea gulls and pigeons as I began to pray in the Spirit.
It was quiet down by the water (although I was not at my usual place) until the tour boats started coming in to port to dock and the floods of tourists disembarked.
I wondered how I would be able to get into God's presence and reason with him, especially since I had little time.
Only moments before leaving, a piercing light flashed towards me. It was the reflection of the sun onto a nearby object.
Then the words came to my spirit, "Do not be afraid. Neither be dismayed. I am guiding you. I know the plans I have for you and they are good plans. Not plans to hurt you."
My Lord was letting me know his eyes could pierce down into my very heart (Revelation/John's vision) and that he knew my anxious thoughts (Psalms). He knew the anguish and chaotic circumstances of my life over the past couple of months.
Yes. There among the busy seaport I was able to hear the still small voice of my Lord.
